International Non-Documents is a Door-to-Door service for time sensitive non-document consignments. All non-document shipments require customs documentation and are subject to customs formalities. Please refer to Customs Documentation Requirements under General Information or call your nearest Union Freight Services office for assistance. An additional transit time of 1 – 2 days may apply for dutiable or commercial value items due to customs clearance procedures at destination.
Cross Border Roadfreight is designed for less time sensitive items. Transit times range between 48 – 72 hours to the capital cities in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland. Outlying areas in these countries will require an additional 24 – 48 hour delivery time.
International Airfreight is designed for larger and heavier consignments. Various options are available to meet your requirements.

Clearing & Forwarding Exporting includes the customs clearing of air or sea freight shipments as well as the on-forwarding of sea freight shipping documents to a nominated recipient agent via our international courier service from South Africa to the designated destination.
Importing includes customs clearing of air and sea freight shipments into South Africa.
RESTRICTIONS
Certain commodities are restricted as specified by IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. There are airline restrictions because of their hazardous nature e.g. any flammable liquid, chemicals, blood, alcohol, fragrances etc. It is the responsibility of the sender to comply with these restricted goods regulations and to please contact Union Freight Services and advise us accordingly should you feel that the contents of your consignment may be restricted, as these will incur a percentage surcharge of transport costs, depending on the cargo. Calculations
- A Fuel Surcharge of the chargeable mass will be levied.
- A Documentation Fee will cover liability of up to R50.00. To be linked to insurance
- Volumetric Charges are charged on shipments at the greater of either the actual or volumetric mass. This calculation is done by measuring: length (cm) x breadth (cm) x height (cm) of the shipment
